Fees will be as follow for 2018.

We are interested in students with a commitment to train self-defense, you have to commit to a minimum of 6 months training contract, there after the contract reverts to a month to month contract with a one month notice period. Our fee structure is as follow:

Individual

• Joining fee + T-shirt                                    – R600
• Monthly fee payable in advance             – R450

Family fees per person (2 persons)

• Joining fee + T-shirt                                    – R600
• Monthly fee payable in advance             – R400

Family 3 and more fees per family

• Joining fee for family                                    – R1200
• Monthly fee payable in advance              – R380 ea
• T-shirts     compulsory                          – R180 ea

I have listed the most common street attacks happening daily in South Africa or for that matter also in the rest of the world. Most Common Street Attacks in South Africa

• Rape
• Car-jacking with pointing gun (traffic lights/drive way)

• Ice-pick knife attack

• Wrist grab with head butt or punch
• ATM robberies, gun and knife from behind

• A front clothing grab, one handed, followed by punch to the head or head butt.

• Kick to groin.
• A broken bottle/glass jabbed to face.
• A slash with knife
• A grappling style head lock.

More than 28 vehicles are carjacked per day in South Africa. We can reduce these numbers by being more aware and taken preventative action.

 

Where does carjacking’s happen:

• Most hijackings take place in the driveways of residential areas. These hijackers prefer areas with accessible escape routes.
• Hijackings take place while stationed at any traffic sign or intersection.
• Hijackings take place while stationary next to the road, e.g. to answer cell phone.
• Hijackings also occur at post offices and parking areas or you may be followed leaving the filling station with the objective to hijack your vehicle where it is quiet.
• The hijackers sometimes use a vehicle to force the victim off the road.
• Hijackings take place at schools when dropping off / picking up children.
• Hijackings take place while the vehicle is idling when off-loading / loading passengers.
• Hijackings take place when advertising your vehicle for sale (Test drive method).
• Bogus Police or Traffic Officers also conduct hijackings (Blue light scenario).

 

Preventing carjacking’s:

• Awareness!!! Concentrate on your surroundings. Check your driveway and street before you leave or enter your premises.
  • Check for unknown parked cars close to your entrance of your property,
  • Be aware of unknown pedestrians close to your residential address – do not turn into your driveway – pass and go back later.
  • Check for cars following you – do not turn into your driveway – pass and go back later. If you suspect you are being followed, drive to your nearest police station or a busy public area.
  • Carjackers scout malls and other areas frequented by affluent people for carjacking victims. When leaving these premises it ia advisable that you check your mirror regularly to see if somebody is following you.
• Be alert if your animals do not greet you at the gate as usual. It might be that the perpetrators over-powered them.
• Make sure your driveway is well lit and clear of shrubbery
• When stopping behind another vehicle, leave half a vehicle length in front so you can make an emergency escape if necessary.
• Avoid keeping your car doors and windows open, especially when stopping at intersections and traffic lights
• Don’t give money or food to beggars at intersections or traffic lights
• Avoid getting lost in a less-safe part of town, plan your trip
• Avoid leaving valuables in clear view of people on the side of the road. Articles such as cell phones and handbags left on seats are favoured targets of smash ‘n’ grab thieves.
• Avoid parking in dark places, when parking at night choose well-lit or security-patrolled parking areas. In most areas, you will see street security guards, who will usually ask whether they can watch over your car and in return should be paid a small fee – anything from two rand upwards.
• Avoid going into un-safe areas, make sure that the areas you intend visiting are safe by asking hotel staff or police for advice. Certain areas, such as parts of Hillbrow, Alexandra, the inner city and Soweto, are best visited in groups, ideally accompanied by local residents.
• Change your routes and your schedule if possible on a regular basis.
